A Tribute to My Mother

It's time women from the past are recognized.

My mother was so talented and charismatic, and yet she never got to excel. Women in her generation weren't able to. They had to accept what they were allowed to do in society in those days. She married my father in the 50s. The 60s and 70s happened, but by that time, the women of her generation were already considered too old.

I went to college in the early 80s so I don't want to vegetate either. But somehow even though I was born almost 40 years after my mother, I see her as more accomplished than I am.

Because it doesn't matter the era, the age, the education, nor the effort, it's possible to still remain behind everyone else for your entire lifetime.

I look forward to the day when I will see my mother again, in Heaven. I want to say to her, "You were always more of a success than me. I, who was born almost 40 years later."

I loved my mother so I am happy to remain eternally behind her.
